Leah
Kinninmont lives in the coastal tourist town of Busselton, Western Australia,
where she was born and raised. As middle child of five, she spent her childhood
immersed in books. It was here she found her love of the world of make believe,
writing short stories for entertainment.
Writing
and reading are both still passions that she fits in around her work at the
local hospital. She currently lives with her own blue point ragdoll, Whiskey.
Homecoming is her first published work.
Leah Kinninmont on the web:
- What is your favorite childhood
book?
Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings. It
was an introduction at a young age into the worlds of massive sweeping epics
known as fantasy. It is an easy read, but still a story that has outlasted so
many others. Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody because at a time when the hero’s where male, we
met a young girl who was different, scared of it and how she grew into it. As a
girl I felt different myself as one who spent so much time in stories and was
not very good at social interaction, Elspeth was a character I could really
relate to. I cannot separate these two.
- What is the most difficult part of
your artistic process?
Getting past the beginning of a story. Ideas and starts are easy for me,
but delving past the first few chapters is still a struggle.
- Do you Google yourself?
No.
There is nothing to Google….Yet.
