Bluesky YouTube PinterestIntro...
Hi, I’m Ciara Knight, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of sweet and Christian romance—and now, romantic suspense. My latest book, Christmas Harbor Secrets, blends heart and danger in a coastal marina filled with secrets, second chances, and redemption.
My Life...
I live aboard a 48-foot, 24-year-old trawler with my husband, where tides and weather reports rule our days. Morning coffee comes with a view of fog curling over the marina, and my writing soundtrack is the creak of dock lines and the hum of engines. After raising our boys, we traded suburban life for one that moves with the water. It’s quieter, simpler, and endlessly inspiring—especially for a writer who loves stories that explore the calm before the storm.
Influences...
My biggest influences come from real life—faith, family, and the quiet strength people find in hard times. I’ve always loved stories where love redeems, hope heals, and ordinary people find extraordinary courage. Writers like Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon, and Colleen Coble showed me that clean, heartfelt suspense can still make your pulse race and your heart ache in all the right ways.
How I Write
I start with emotion and atmosphere. Whether it’s a cowboy on a windswept plain or an ex-detective standing on a foggy dock, I want readers to feel what my characters feel—to live in the moment with them. I use deep point of view and sensory detail so every heartbeat, every choice, every whisper of danger feels real. My process is a mix of plotting and instinct; I map out major beats, then let the characters take me where they need to go.
Motivation — Why I Write
I write to explore the kind of strength that comes from quiet places—the kind that pulls people out of darkness. For me, storytelling is about finding beauty in brokenness, light in fear, and hope even when the tide seems to pull everything away. My goal is always the same: to leave readers feeling something genuine long after the last page turns.
But when a criminal organization tries to silence them, will they survive through Christmas, or will the tide claim more than her father’s secrets?
