If you didn’t write, what would you do for work?

Hmm...I've often said I think I would be a university professor as I love to learn and to share my knowledge with others, but I also love to travel and if I wasn't a writer, maybe I would be a travel Vlogger.  I just think that would be such an amazing thing to do.

Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?

I don't read reviews that have less than 3 stars and honestly rarely read them at all.  I've found that the adage you cannot please everyone is especially true when writing a book.  Of course I love hearing from readers, but reviews are not written for the author.  They are written to help other readers of like mind choose books.

Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?

Sure.  I love finding an easter egg in a book, so including them once in a while is a lot of fun.  It's usually the inclusion of a character from a previous book whose connection is not mentioned on the back cover. :)

What was your hardest scene to write?

I'll be honest.  This book flowed in a really beautiful way and I enjoyed writing all of it.  Although there was lots of emotion, I was really into it and reveled in writing what I could see happening in my head.  By and large though, the moment when one or the other of the characters has lost trust in the other is always the hardest moment for me to write in a book.  Trust is such a key thing for me and knowing my characters have a tough road ahead to reestablish it tugs at my heart every time.

Tell us about your book...

The Cost of Their Royal Fling is a friends to lovers romance (which I love to read and rarely write).  Jenna is a little older than Dimitri, which makes for an interesting dynamic with our alpha hero, who is no less so for his younger age.  I loved doing the research for the setting in Abu Dhabi and Seattle (one of my favorite cities) as well.  These two are off limits to each other, but that doesn't dampen the hot passion that burns between them one little bit.

The Cost of Their Royal Fling (Princesses by Royal Decree Book 3)

In this enchanting royal romance by USA TODAY bestselling author Lucy Monroe, what starts as a no-strings arrangement becomes extremely complicated…

The only man to tempt her?
A prince!

Jenna Beals put love to one side and worked hard to achieve her dream career as a fashion journalist. So when she’s catapulted into an incendiary fling with gorgeous Prince Dimitri, she knows it has an expiration date—she’s not looking for a crown!

Dimitri’s mission to discover who’s leaking palace secrets led him to Jenna, but their passion-filled tryst reveals someone who sees him for more than his royal title. As their connection deepens, could the truth cost him the only woman who could truly be his?

  4. Yes, as a writer it's probably not good to read reviews for the most part. You're right, you can't please everyone.
