Gilchrist on the web:
1. What is your writing Kryptonite?
These days its writing sex scenes. I loved writing them in my earlier writing days and viewed these scenes as a challenge in attaining the right balance of emotional conflict and physical awareness. Now I prefer to write sweet romances or even stories with romantic elements, and intend to focus more on suspense, drama and crime.
2. Did you ever consider writing under a pseudonym?
I do write under a pseudonym! Two actually. As S E Gilchrist I write sexy and adventurous sci fi and apocalyptic romances as well as romantic suspense. As Suzanne Gilchrist I write women’s fiction and sweet, small-town romances. The main reason I decided on a pseudonym was that I’m divorced and preferred to write under my maiden name. The reason I decided on a new pseudonym (ie Suzanne Gilchrist) was that I wanted to differentiate between the genres I write.
3. Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
I do try to be original but in saying that I’m always aware that I need to satisfy the basic expectations a reader expects in different genres.
4. Tell us about your book…
Take Me Home, is the first book in a group writing venture I organised. We have nine members including myself and each romance is set in the fictional town of Bindarra Creek. For inspiration on the setting, we looked to the small town of Manilla NSW which is on the western slopes of the New England Tablelands. The community includes both farmlands and the township, a river, a creek and there is a national park close by with gorges and rapids which I use in my story. My heroine, Abby Taylor is estranged from her husband, Roman, and has made a new life for herself, alone. But all that changes when a friend elicits her help in providing a temporary home for two homeless boys. Part women’s fiction and part romance, Take Me Home, also has a suspenseful climax.
Take Me Home (Bindarra Creek A Town Reborn)
Forgiving the past was too painful until now.
Almost forty, Abby Taylor has built a new life for herself in the small country town of Bindarra Creek. When an old friend convinces her to give two adolescent boys a temporary home, she is torn between a growing love for these orphans and the grief in her past.

I have never written an explicit scene and I can imagine it must be very tricky. I love when I see Australian authors around lately! And I really also like that she has such a passion for the environment.
