Today we are introducing author Susanne Hampton and her latest release Falling For Dr December...
Intro- I'm the author of…
Falling For Dr December - Mills & Boon Medical Romance
My Life-
I’m married to the man I met at eighteen and the mother of two adult daughters, Orianthi, a musician and Tina, an artist. My varied career titles have included dental nurse, personal assistant, contract manager and now Medical Romance author. The family also extends to a slightly irritable maltese shih-tzu, a neurotic poodle, three elderly ducks and four hens that only occasionally bother to lay eggs. I love everything romantic and pretty, so my home is brimming with romance novels and shoes I love a happy ever after so writing for Mills& Boon is a dream come true.
Influences-
There are so many inspiring writers and I appreciate different elements of their different writing styles. I love plot driven books as much as those driven by characters and will choose to read them according to how I feel on the day. When I was younger, I would read the last page of a book before I started so that I would not be disappointed by a poor ending. Fortunately I no longer do that because I now have trust in certain writers and I allow them to take me on a journey, knowing they won’t let me down. I hope that my readers can feel the same way about my books.
How I write-
Motivation- (why you write?)
Your Book- (blurb)
But when Laine is forced to return to Uralla for a charity calendar shoot, the scorchingly attractive - and highly uncooperative - Dr Pierce Beaumont begins to melt the barriers around her heart! Laine's soon breaking both her rules .... and falling for Dr December!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has ever read the last page first ;) And Dr. December sounds like quite a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. It sounds as if you are living your dream.
ReplyDeleteI still almost always read the last few pages - not first, but certainly before I finish the book. Any book, fiction or otherwise. A guilty habit.
Writing is definitely the job of her dreams. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteMy process is similar...as are my motivations. I've never read the end of a book first. But I did once jump ahead in a book to see the happy couple together...only to discover the love interest died. Let's just say 1. I was depressed for the rest of the novel from where I had temporarily stop reading to jump ahead, and 2. I never made that mistake again (or read anymore of that author's books). lol
ReplyDeleteI'd fall for (and on) Dr. December if he stepped into my life.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Susanne.
Happy Holidays.
Seems like the perfect doctor for every month of the year! Great interview ladies! All the best, Susanne!
