 Stranded!

Ah, how I love a good snowstorm! We’ve had a crazy winter here, in Toronto. So. Much. Snow. I guess it’s not a surprise then that I tend to love writing and reading stories where the hero and heroine are stranded together because of the weather. It’s something I never get tired of-a blazing fire, a cozy cabin, a hero that will do anything to make sure the woman with him is safe.

Being in a dangerous situation also reveals a lot about character. While I like my heroines strong and independent, it’s imperative that the hero (whether he’s a CEO, rancher, or whatever) can be calm, cool, and very collected. Who wants a hero who balks under pressure or flails around, clueless as to what to do during an extreme situation?

In The Rancher’s Second Chance, the hero, Cole is a rancher. This man is comfortable in almost any situation and isn’t afraid…of the weather at least. But Cole is afraid of giving his heart a second time. He doesn’t think he’d survive if he loves someone again and then the unthinkable happens…Melanie, city-girl, makes him question everything. When a blizzard strands them together in the Colorado mountains, Cole realizes that Melanie is a woman with a secret past and he’s drawn to her. When the storm is over, Cole knows this is just the beginning…

    Looks like a great story. I like to see characters in the worst situations. There's the tension, plus seeing what they're made of.
