What are a few things we would find on your desk?

-My desk is embarrassingly messy! I tidy it up between books, but it is overloaded by the time I finish. Right now there are stacks of books for research, a couple of craft books for when I need to think, notebooks, a few rocks (don’t ask), bookmarks here and there I should put away, and more office supplies than I could possibly need.

What motivates you to write?

-A story idea set somewhere interesting is particularly fun for me - I love to research places around the world. When I do, I always learn things that create scenes and even subplots in the book I wouldn’t otherwise have thought about.

Share something about yourself no one else knows?

-I strangely have tunes or even just repetitive notes that will repeat in my head like on rewind when I’m trying to get to sleep.

What was your favorite scene to write?

-Hmm. I really enjoyed several, but my favorite is probably when the hero is teasing the heroine at work after she fell asleep at his house the night before and she’s embarrassed and frustrated at his teasing.

Tell us about your book…

The Prince and The Midwife is book five of an eight book series called The Hollywood Hills Clinic. The heroine is the head midwife at an exclusive hospital that caters to Hollywood stars and the wealthy. Gabriella loves her job and prides herself on excellence, but bringing newborns into the world is bittersweet for her, as she has a personal tragedy in her past that is still painful.

Gabby is none too happy when handsome prince and doctor Rafael Moreno shows up to care for a demanding patient and tries to take over.

Rafael is in LA to hide from the press after a scandal that infuriates his royal parents. He is very attracted to feisty Gabriella, and realizes she’s hiding something that is painful to her. As they spend time together, secrets are shared until his notoriety causes her past to become very painfully public. Can they emerge from separately hiding to find future happiness together?r, which she later tells him in no uncertain terms!

    2. Oh, dear, I was trying to find my author identity, then deleted my other comment! :-) The only other continuity I've been involved with was last November's which had just four books, so this one required a lot more in terms of integrating the other books' characters. It was challenging but fun!

      Thanks for stopping by, Hilary!

  2. I really like the sound of a more medical based romance and then a prince being thrown in there as well. It's an interesting kind of mix that I haven't seen before!

  3. While it's not really my kind of book, I like the premise for the story.

  5. Good to know I'm not the only one with a notoriously messy desk. :)

This book sounds really good. I've got a soft spot for any books set against a medical background.

    1. You're my favorite kind of reader, Susan! :-) I do think many readers unfamiliar with medical romance would like it if they tried it. And I always enjoy meeting fellow messy-desk friends!
